Ensure your production home building process stays on time and on budget with AeroBarrier air sealing installation from the experts at Northeast Air Sealing.
Benefits of AeroBarrier for Production Homes
Production home builders have a lot to juggle: With multiple projects, tight deadlines, and set budgets, there is little room for inefficiency and/or error. AeroBarrier installation can give production builders peace of mind when it comes to air sealing. With AeroBarrier, there’s no need to worry about delays or extra costs due to air leakage or a failed blower door test.
AeroBarrier is a state-of-the-art air sealing technology that makes it easy to meet high-performance standards and energy codes. It can be used on both single-family new construction projects as well as multi-family new construction projects, and ensures you’ll never fail another blower door test.
Here are a few of the other key benefits of AeroBarrier for production homes:
- Meets (or exceeds) any building code requirements
- Speedy installation–only 60 to 90 minutes
- Is ideal for high-performance and green home building standards (i.e., Net Zero, Passive House, ENERGY STAR, LEED, and IECC)
- Seals all air leaks: from as large as half an inch to as narrow as the width of a human hair
- Ensures your project stays on-time, on-budget, and as efficient as possible–no delays from failed blower door tests
AeroBarrier vs. Traditional Air Sealing
Traditional air sealing is often a lengthy process that involves many steps. One of the biggest problems is that regular air sealing is largely guesswork. Sealant is applied, and from there, a blower door test is conducted: If the building passes, great! If not, additional air sealing measures must be taken, resulting in delays, additional costs, and retesting.
AeroBarrier air sealing works differently. Since it seals literally anything, the first step of the installation process is taping or covering anything that shouldn’t be sealed. From there, a blower door fan is used to pressurize the building, and the water-based, non-toxic AeroBarrier sealant is aerosolized and pumped into the building as a mist. Thanks to pressurization from the blower door, the air sealant is drawn into any and all gaps in construction. And, real-time monitoring allows installers to seal the building to the desired level of airtightness. Just 30 minutes after the air sealing installation is finished, work can resume in the building, and you’ll know exactly how successful and airtight the building is when you’re done.
Thanks to its unique design and installation process, AeroBarrier can help production builders save time, achieve a better seal, and ensure their new construction projects run efficiently.
