Rebates and Incentives for Home Upgrades

If you’re looking to improve the efficiency and comfort of your home, there’s money to be saved on the cost of your upgrades via tax credits, utility programs, and more.

Inflation Reduction Act Tax Credits & Rebates

The 2022 Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) introduced several measures aimed at making energy efficient upgrades more affordable. From 2023 through 2032, the credit is equal to 30% of the cost of qualified home improvements, including:

  • Insulation
  • Air sealing
  • Energy audits
  • Energy efficient HVAC systems
  • High-efficiency water heaters
  • Electrical panel upgrades
  • Energy efficient exterior windows and doors.

Insulation and air sealing rebates exclude on-site labor costs, and there are annual limits to the tax credit that vary by service. However, you can claim the credit multiple years in a row, allowing you to make upgrades over time without missing out on savings!

ENERGY STAR Rebates

Homes meeting ENERGY STAR standards are eligible for the tax credits mentioned above and may also qualify for additional home performance rebates. Explore ENERGY STAR’s list of nationwide incentives and get in touch with Northeast Air Sealing to determine your eligibility.

NH Saves Loan Program

New Hampshire builders can take advantage of financing options offered through the NH Saves Loan Program, including:

  • Qualifying electric and natural gas customers can finance energy efficiency upgrades through a no-interest or low-interest loan.
  • Financing options allow for up to $15,000 for eligible energy efficient upgrades.
  • Subsidized interest rates of 0% or 2% are available based on income qualifications.
  • On-bill financing may be an alternative; contact Northeast Air Sealing to discuss suitability for your project.

NH Saves Financing for Energy Efficiency

Participating in the NH Saves program opens the door to energy efficiency improvements with a 2% annual percentage rate (APR) Home Energy Efficiency Improvement Loan. This loan can be used for home weatherization, rebates, and other approved energy efficiency enhancements, including insulation and air sealing. Northeast Air Sealing can guide you through the process.
